Q. My instructor says there is a textbook on reserve in the library. What does reserve mean? Where are reserve books located?

Reserve books are located behind the main desk in most of our libraries.  Reserve books are books that are used for specific classes taught at Madison College.  We have many of the textbooks that are in use, but not necessarily all of them. 

You must ask at the desk to use a book that is on reserve and library staff will check it out to you (please remember your OneCard or another form of photo ID).  Most of these books must remain in the library while you are using them, these are called closed reserve books.  Some may be checked out overnight or for 3 days, but the majority of reserve books are on closed reserve.
