Academic Search Complete includes a wide variety of academic journal articles.  Our Opposing Viewpoints database is another good starting point for many research papers and projects. The 'Browse Issues' link in Opposing Viewpoints contains a wide variety of information on various real-world issues, including viewpoints, magazine articles, journal articles, statistics, and newspaper articles.
